Make Today a Chai Day!
If you’re looking for a midday pick-me-up, you just might find yourself saying, “Make mine a chai, please!” Masala chai (Indian spiced tea), is always satisfying and a pleasure to the senses. It makes a great choice in a black tea base, or even a decaffeinated tea base, such as a decaf black, or mellow rooibos tea. A masala chai latte is a perfect snack to tide you over and get you through the late afternoon snacking zone. With its traditional spice blend (masala), you will find your mood elevated and
a smile on your face while sipping, and well after. You may wonder if chai is a mood elevator, and indeed, it just may be.
Is Chai a Natural Mood Booster?
At TeaTime Lifestyle, we say YES! For starters, the heady, fragrant scent of the masala chai creates an uplifting aromatherapy experience. The rich Indian spice blend, enjoyed and savored for millennia, is a combination of exotic spices, many of whose roots are in the traditional healing and wellbeing of Ayurveda, including ginger, cardamom, and a dash of black pepper. For a quick prep consider a Numi Rooibos Chai (herbal) or a Rishi Masala Chai (black caffeinated tea). You will find yourself steeping these teabags and sipping chai often. You’ll be looking forward to savoring your next kulhad (Indian ceramic chai cup) full of this pleasurable, ancient concoction. Although they get hot when the hot chai is poured, you can let you kulhad cups cool first. You will definitely enjoy the experience of drinking masala chai from an authentic, traditional cup that you can wrap your hands around.
Masala Chai Latte
Looking for an easy, creamy spicy treat? How about making a masala chai latte, featuring all of the spiciness of a decadent dessert in a teacup? Having no tea in this blend, the spices are the star, and you can make your chai latte in a snap. Smooth and wonderfully fragranced, masala chai latte is a delight for you any time.
When more time is available, you might try grabbing your delicious whole masala spices, a mortar and pestle, and small saucepan to make your own homemade chai and put your heart into every Indian chai
cupful. Sooooooo….enjoy your masala chai daily ritual and find yourself smiling, relaxed and feeling great.
